The sun sets differently in Ventura. Sitting at the water's edge, you can watch it slip slowly behind the Channel Islands, silhouetting them against the glowing horizon. The colors soften into something almost dreamlike, soft rose and lavender bleeding into the quietest blue. The water holds the whole sky in its reflection, rolling softly to the shore.

It is one of the most peaceful things Southern California has to offer, and it belongs entirely to those who stop long enough to notice it.

This painting was born from those moments of last light on the beach. Soft pinks, purples, and blues drift across the canvas in gentle harmony, the islands resting at the horizon. There is nothing hurried here, only the slow, beautiful passage of light and the feeling of being exactly where you are supposed to be.

Painted with Winsor & Newton and Gamblin oils on stretched canvas, finished with a gloss varnish for richness and long-term protection. Framed in a solid maple wood floater frame, wired and ready to hang.
