Bold eyespots ring its wings like flecks of stained glass, copper and lavender caught mid-shimmer in the sun. This butterfly likes to rest on bare earth and warm stone, wings spread flat as if to hold the warm light itself, before lifting away in a sudden flash.

Painted with Winsor & Newton and Gansai Tambi watercolor paints on cold pressed lightly textured watercolor paper. Original 5x5 inch watercolor matted and framed in a 8x8 inch white frame with glass, ready to hang.
