Spring arrives differently in Southern California: abundantly, joyfully, and all at once. Hillsides are dotted with color, coastal paths disappear beneath waves of wildflowers, and the air carries the mingled scent of salt and blossom. This painting was born from long walks wandering along the Encinitas coastline: warm sunlight, a cool ocean breeze moving through the grass, the glimmer of the Pacific, and flowers as far as the eye can see.

Three orange sulphur butterflies rest among the wildflowers, basking in the sunlight of longer days. These butterflies are small, joyful reminders to be present in the moment as it is. 

“Superbloom” is a celebration of Southern California in all its glory. A painting that chases the feeling of standing at the edge of land and sea, carrying the warmth and wonder of spring into any room.

Painted with Winsor & Newton and Gamblin oils on stretched canvas, finished with a gloss varnish for richness and long-term protection. Framed in a solid maple wood floater frame, wired and ready to hang.
